Ranjana Hegde hails from Keremane in Uttara Kannada and is currently based in Waterloo, Canada.
She is formally trained in Hindustani classical music. Ranjana began her musical journey under the guidance of her grandfather, the legendary Yakshagana artist Dr. Mahabala Hegde. She later continued her training with the late Shri Narayan Pandit ji, who introduced her to diverse genres including classical and semi-classical music, thumris, nirguni bhajans, and more. She also had the privilege of learning from the renowned ghazal maestro of Agra, Shri Sudhir Narain.
